School of Seven Bells feature a Secret and a couple of Libraries.

November 10, 2008
You probably know some of the players involved in School of Seven Bells, a new-ish band from Brooklyn. Benjamin Curtis of Secret Machines (well, formerly of Secret Machines) formed the project with former On!Air!Library! singing sisters, Alejandra and Claudia Deheza (they're still sisters, actually). Curtis supplies the beats and tribal guitar hooks, and the Deheza ladies supply the perfectly in-sync harmonies that sound other-worldly.

Overall, School of Seven Bells is a friendly battle between atmospheric laptop melodies and gloomy guitar pop. The music is slightly space-y, definitely drone-y and a little glitch-y psych-y. They're opening for M83 this week. Not bad! They've also recently toured with Blonde Redhead. It's hard to pin this band down, but they're definitely rocking to something different than your average band off the street.
