My Bloody Valentine. Seriously.

September 15, 2008
After forever comparing any band whose music is "layered" (with guitars) to create "walls of sound" (with guitars) that "swirl" (with guitars) to My Bloody Valentine on OMR, it definitely feels good to actually be writing about My Bloody Valentine for once. But as you probably heard, unless you've been living under THE ROCK (insert pic of Nicholas Cage giving the devil's salute), My Bloody Valentine have recently reunited, and while it's too early to tell if it feels so good, they're definitely selling out their announced shows within seconds of tickets going on sale.

Did you get your passes to the (upstate) New York edition of All Tomorrows Parties on September 19th, headlined by Kevin Shields and co.? If you did, your browser refresh skills are more impressive than ours. We were twenty-seconds late and $225 bucks short. Damn, now we'll never know how wonderful a venue called Kutshers Country Club can be. At least they're playing a show in Chicago shortly thereafter.

Anyway, if you like late '80s/early '90s shoegazing Britpop, then you don't need me to tell you about My Bloody Valentine. And if you don't like late '80s/early '90s shoegazing Britpop, then you also don't need me to tell you about My Bloody Valentine. So this is what uselessness feels like. Hmm. I've thought about it and I don't like this feeling.
