The Foundry Field Recordings: good lo-fi pop.

July 30, 2007
Missouri's Foundry Field Recordings are a four-piece that play sweet shoegazing guitar pop that sounds like Grandaddy (a lot) meets Nada Surf meets Flaming Lips at their most normal. These are really good lo-fi songs, featuring lyrics full of sci-fi stuff, like robots, clones, the future, technology etc.

Though human civilization as we know it may one day be erased from existence, at least singer/songwriter Billy Schuh's carefree tenor propels these breezy melodies to hummable territory and beyond. No angst or aggression (in the music, anyway) will be found here, just some pretty pleasant riffs.

The Foundry Field Recordings play Schubas, on Thursday, August 9th
