The Second Annual Pitchfork Fest

July 19, 2006
Ah, Pitchfork. People either love to hate you, or hate to love you. But you do get some good bands to play your parties, that's for sure. Here are quick highlights of some of the bands that wonderfully fair-and-balanced website thinks are worth your show-going time. What, no Travis Morrison?

Band of Horses - Seattle's Best are still the front runner for Best Album of 2006.

Art Brut - Eddie Argos is today's Eddie Vedder. He crowd surfs. Here's hoping he covers "Evenflow." (btw, have you listened to that song lately? Time has not been kind...)

Chin Up Chin Up - We've always loved these guys, and they just keep getting better. This is straight up guitar goodness. Go White Sox!

The Mountain Goats - Where will you be on the day Dennis Franz' lung collapses? Darnielle is today's Dylan.

Tapes 'N Tapes - Blog Me. Pretty please?!

Devendra Banhart - Banhart goes Bananas! And Lindsay Lohan just can't quit Devendra.

The Futureheads - MUCH better live than on record.

The National - Best Album of 2005

CSS - Brazilian band who just wants to make love and listen to Death from Above. Ummm, ok.

Pitchfork Fest is July 28th, 29th and 30th at Union Park. Go if you want.
