Chrome Sparks: easy like a Sunday morning.

May 6, 2013
Chrome Sparks is Jeremy Malvin from Ann Arbor (how doooo... how do I finnnnndddd herrrrrr! - sorry, that's a Get Up Kids song.... called Ann Arbor..... once again.... I'm sorry). Malvin also plays drummer in another recent Rockness fav, Stepdad . Just thought you should know!

As Chrome Sparks, Malvin makes chill (and slightly soulful) instrumental beats using, well, whatever one-man bands use to make their beats (apples and wires and levers, I think). Chrome Sparks has a good jam called "Marijuana." Now I only bring this up because the title might give you some further insight into Chrome Sparks' sound. Of course, I certainly wouldn't know anything about marijuana itself (aka "the pot") myself because it's illegal and I don't touch the stuff and anyway the most important point I'm trying to make here is.... wait, I lost my train of thought. Oh well. Nevermind.

So give Chrome Sparks a whirl if you like your tunes to be massively chill. And if you like, I don't know, let's say Clams Casino meets Washed Out (I'm sure chill dudes hate that comparison by now, but whattya gonna do) meets Balam Acab meets Abdecaf meets Com Truise. How about that?

Chrome Sparks play with Anamanaguchi and Infinity Shred, at Lincoln Hall, on Saturday, May 25th.
