Disappearer won't let you forget them.

December 1, 2009
Disappearer is a heavy and sludgy trio from Boston that hits it hard. Really, really hard. They say they are influenced by a bunch of loud bands including The Jesus Lizard, Drive Like Jehu, Melvins, Mogwai, Sonic Youth and, well, my eyes started to glaze over as I scanned their long list.

Strangely though, they don't seem to mention Quicksand as a "you're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration" band. Disappearer sounds a lot like Quicksand to me. Gosh, Quicksand was a good band. Disappearer sound like Torche and Jesu and The Brown Book, too. Also good bands! Are you noticing a theme?

Anyway, as of this writing (September of 2009), Disappearer is on blow-out-your-eardrums tour with the mighty Pelican (hey, they're a good band, too). Try to pick up the band's sick album that was released by Magic Bullet Records (Golden City, This Will Destroy You, Lymbyc Systym). I love good bands. Good bands RULE. Especially good bands that are LOUD and have lots of RIFFS and vocals GROWLS. I wish I was in a good band.
