Band We Like: Adult Mom
Listen to their excellent new album.
Written by Patrick McNamara
Adult Mom is a bedroom pop band from Purchase, NY.
They're real good.
Once Stephanie Knipe's solo project (formed circa 2012 A.D.), Adult Mom has slowly grown into a full band of creative collaborators (which now includes Olivia Battell, Mike Dvorscak and Bruce Hamilton).
They've released a bunch of good music over the past few years (including their stellar full-length debut in 2015 A.D.) and have played a TON of shows (with solid peeps like Laura Stevenson, Worriers, Diet Cig, Somos, Japanese Breakfast, Crying, Forth Wanderers, Petal, Porches, Fern Mayo and too many more good bands to get into here so let's just table it for now). They're working hard out there.
If you're new to this band's goodness, perhaps start with Adult Mom's latest album Soft Spots (on the excellent record label Tiny Engines) which you can stream it below.
You should do that.
It's real good.
