Telepathe rock organized chaos. - Oh My Rockness

Telepathe rock organized chaos.

May 18, 2009
Brooklyn's Telepathe are an experimental electronic trio that's comprised of Busy Gangness (frontwoman/composer/percussionist), Melissa Livaudais (guitarist/singers/percussionist/composer/beat-maker) and Ryan Licero (guitarist/electro-ist). This band is all about scattered synths and boundless beats that may, upon first listen, appear messy at worst and chaotically orchestrated at best. But while there's a whole lot going on here, Telepathe's songs are actually quite tidy. Buried under all the swirling technology is a song's beginning, middle and end.

I'm not sure I would classify these three as punk (if anything, Busy displays a hip-hop swagger from the front of the stage), but this is definitely the band you want playing that illegal show at your friend-of-a-friend's rooftop. Music you've never heard the likes of before just sounds kind of shady, and sometimes shady is just what you want.
