You probably know some of the players involved in School of Seven Bells, a new-ish band from Brooklyn. Benjamin Curtis of Secret Machines (well, formerly of Secret Machines) formed the project with former On!Air!Library! singing sisters, Alejandra and Claudia Deheza (they're still sisters, actually). Curtis supplies the beats and tribal guitar hooks, and the Deheza ladies supply the perfectly in-sync harmonies that sound other-worldly.

Overall, School of Seven Bells is a friendly battle between atmospheric laptop melodies and gloomy guitar pop. The music is slightly space-y, definitely drone-y and a little glitch-y psych-y. They recently played shows with M83 and Blonde Redhead, so maybe you can slide the Bells' sound somewhere in between those two great bands.

It's hard to pin these three down, but they're definitely rocking to something different than your average band off the street. See them live and you'll know what I mean. Oh, and you should check out their debut album "Alpinisms" out now on Ghostly.
