Working For a Nuclear Free City
Manchester's Working for a Nuclear Free City is a lovely band that explores dreams and space and the meaning of life with guitar rock and keyboard ambience. You can hear many bands referenced here; My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Chemical Brothers, M83 and their old city mates The Stone Roses (especially their first album). They're sort of dance-gaze, I guess.
Working make a big, rich and layered sound that can easily fit into the club scene; smoke and lights would compliment these swirling songs perfectly. But you can just as easily put this on when you're washing the dishes or driving to Target. After all, this really is just good pop rock. And pop rock's good for every occasion.
