BAND WE LIKE: COURTING ((poppy Liverpool post punk))
((The Rumble Strips)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness
The Rumble Strips
London's The Rumble Strips are a brash and brassy band that plays energetic rockabilly pop. If you like Jack Penate and Mystery Jets, then you'll certainly like this enjoyable band. Besides a lot of guitar hooks and well-sung harmonies, the five lads in The Rumble Strips also throw in a whole lot of horns (trumpet and sax to be exact). This sometimes make them sort of sound, dare we say, ska. But mostly it's just fun rock 'n roll.
The band is currently on a tour of bigger venues with Cold War Kids (as of November 2007), but have also recently shared smaller stages with bands like The Young Knives and The Little Ones. Kanine Records (Grizzly Bear, Oxford Collapse) is releasing their domestic EP debut later this year. Another good opti-pop group.
