((Soft)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

With their swirling, melodic, lush pop, NYC's still-unsigned Soft have been compared most often to bands like the Stone Roses and My Bloody Valentine. Of these shoegazers, the Stone Roses is perhaps the most accurate comparison, since Soft's sound is armed with that same sunny disposition (though the Stone Roses were surely no angels). There's not much Shields-like brooding in this band's repertoire -- these songs are definite toe-tappers (however, they do have a song called "You Make Me Wanna Die," but I assume they mean die laughing).

Don't get me wrong, Soft is NOT the next Stone Roses or My Bloody Valentine by any means... but if you like those bands, you may want to check them out to see if their sound is historically accurate. And who knows, you may be into them.
