Maria Usbeck used to the frontwoman of Selebrities (File Under: A Good Band) but now she's making music under her own name. And guess what? It's totally good.

Her debut solo album “Amparo" (on the excellent label Cascine, home to Chad Valley, Erika Spring, Yumi Zouma and more good artists / bands) is a lush warm synth pop delight.

It was co-produced by Caroline Polachek (of Chairlift) and is sung entirely in Spanish (Usbeck lives in Brooklyn now but she was born in Ecuador).
