((Indian Jewelry)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Not much is known about the evasive noise trio who now call themselves Indian Jewelry. We do know they used to be called Swarm of Angels. We know they are from the fattest city in America (Houston). And we know that when we listen to their record on Monitor (home of Part Chimp, Early Man, Oxes), we don't know exactly what we're hearing.

This is spooky sampled stuff that goes from haunting to rocking in a heartbeat. The music drones, it dances (kind of), and it plays itself out like a forty-day desert trip (and not the load-the-kids-in-the-station-wagon type trip, either). Most music doesn't really frighten me, but there's something about Indian Jewelry that makes me feel funny inside (and not in the a-turtle-walks-into-a-bar-eating-a-banana sort of funny, either).
