BAND WE LIKE: BAD BLOOM ((shoegaze dreams))

I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness
Hands down one of the best band names of recent years, Austin's I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness features former members of Windsor for the Derby and Paul Newman (how much did that band RULE.) And their debut self-titled EP was recorded by pal, Britt Daniel of Spoon.
Their music has been described as "doom pop" (perhaps my new favorite genre name, too) and it is bleak at times, but it's not so much of a buzzkill that you can't dance to it. There're some rhythms and stunning keyboards amongst the despair. Think of them as Interpol meets The Cure meets Texas rock 'n' roll. This band is good.
