((Human Resources)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Human Resources

NYC's Human Resources is the strangely compelling experimental electro/sampling project of one Jeremy Krinsley (by day, editor of Impose Magazine). He's put out a bunch of (mostly) self-released stuff as Human Resources, and collaborators include members of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Fiasco among others.

It's hard to know how to describe this. Human Resources is very lo-fi, that's for sure. All the sounds here are pretty muddled. And the music often goes to long, extended psych-y territory. But it's not like this is just straight up lo-fi psych, know what I'm saying? It's too complicated and orchestrated to classify it as just that. To be honest, I don't know what this is. But it sounds good in that "I don't know what this is" sort of way.

Maybe Human Resources is just drug music for music nerds. Human Resources is definitely trippy... so there's that. And they definitely don't sound like many (any) other bands out there. The discerning listener will find much to enjoy out of these bizarre samples and beats. But those verse-chorus-verse listeners out there... stay away for Human Resources. You'll get confused.
