((Frankie Rose)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

I have no idea why I haven't written about Frankie Rose before today. What the hell is my problem? What, I don't like pretty and swirly shoegaze pop lushness that sounds like it's been kissed by a less foreboding sun? Is that what I'm trying to tell myself by neglecting Frankie Rose for this long? Because if that's what I'm telling myself, then myself be all straight up WRONG.

(side note: the phrase "I just need to stay true to myself" is the biggest pile of horse dung ever – what does that even mean? Reality show cast members seem to enjoy saying it a lot).

Of course, you probably haven't neglected Frankie Rose. You probably have loved her music for quite a while. She's been in Vivian Girls and Dum Dum Girls and Crystal Stilts at one time or another, after all.

And she did release a critically acclaimed album for Slumberland, one of the best labels going for great pop (The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Veronica Falls, Big Troubles, Terry Malts and on and on and on). And she does have a new one out soon that, by all indications, will be even better.

So... Frankie Rose is doing just fine by my neglect. It is me who has suffered. Well, it only takes a second to change your ways. And the completion of this band profile is the first second of my new transformation. Frankie Rose, you can count on me.
