((Figurines)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

The Danish quartet Figurines play mostly up-tempo "skewed" rock that sounds a whole lot like Modest Mouse (who always sounded like Built to Spill); the vocals, the guitars, everything predominantly points to that Pacific Northwest band of Brockians. Having been around since the mid-90's, Figurines seem to be fans of MM's "Lonesome Crowded West" period, as opposed to the newer "Good News..." gilded age. At least they are picking a good band's best era to inspire them. I'm not saying they are ripping Modest Mouse off... just call it a nod... a very strong nod... possibly inflicting whiplash.
