((Pirate Love)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Oslo's Pirate Love is a band the Oya Fest guys are bringing to NYC to play an Oh My Rockness/Oya pre-SXSW show (2010). Now, I realize this band profile will be hopelessly outdated as soon as the calendar strikes March 16th (does a calendar strike, or is that a clock?). Because, you know, the Rockness/Oya Festival show is March 15th at Santos Party House with Pirate Love, The Depreciation Guild, and The Megaphonic Thrift. But we're not self-promoting or anything.

So what does this big band of six dudes sound like anyway? Think scratchy (someone get this singer a Ricola!) and garage-y rock 'n roll with a slight smattering of psychedelic jam-outs. But Pirate Love is definitely more punk power than trippy hippy. Do I hear a little bit of Blood Brothers in this too? Hmmm.

Anyway, WHEN you go to this show on March 15th, you can certainly expect Pirate Love to bring the volume. With six dudes in your band, you better either be really LOUD or pretty chamber pop. And Pirate Love ain't no pretty chamber pop. This is Norway, man. Norwegians rock out! Don't we all know that by now? If you don't know, go to the show on March 15th. If you do know, go to the show on March 15th.
