((Partyshank)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Sweet name. Anyway, London's Partyshank has this one song "Virgins" that sounds a lot like Team Robespierre. A lot. So if you like those guys (which we do) you may like Partyshank. But how many bands do you really need in your life that rock this punk-meets-Fisher Price-sound? (I guess people have been calling this sound Nu-Rave. Yeah. Ok.)

This totally fashionable duo use keyboards and programmed beats/samples to create catchy arcade songs that seem written for an American Apparel commercial. And "Nu-Rave" will last just about as long as a store full of nothing but brightly colored clothing, too. But Partyshank is certainly fun for now.

You may have seen them recently on tour with Dan Deacon or Crystal Castles. Or, you may have listened to them first and said, "F this shit." Either way, Nu-Rave is not here to stay. So stand back, relax, dance, and try to enjoy it.
