((Mission of Burma)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

When Boston's Mission of Burma recently played Siren Fest, I thought the heat would be too much for these old geezers. But they completely destroyed, oblivious to the sun, just like it was 1982 again.

Having been one of the more influential post-punk bands of the last twenty years, Mission of Burma formed an unexpected reunion in 2002 and recently released a highly praised new album, OnOffOn. What's most surprising is not only do they still rock, but it hardly seems like any time has passed at all. Still prominent are those unmistakable Burma guitars, the forceful percussion and their shredding bass melodies.

Time has not dulled their stage presence either. The band is completely in their element in front of a crowd. If you never knew the Mission of Burma of old and went to their show today, you would never guess their debut album came out the same year as "E.T."
