((Expert Alterations)) Band Profile and Upcoming Chicago Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Written by Patrick McNamara

Expert Alterations is a lo-fi band from Baltimore that plays breezy indie pop that bounces and jingles and jangles and comes at you nice and clean, NZ UK C86 style.

Not too long ago, the band self-released a five-song cassette (they paid some guy $100 to record it) that was so good it kept going in and out of print. Tough to predict them cassette sales. Thankfully, the very fine label Slumberland (who know a thing or two about both jingle and jangle) reissued it in 2014 and you can still find it there to this very day.

The Clean is a big influence for these three dudes (Paul + Alan + Patrick) so they must have been pretty stoked when they toured with them last year. They also recently played with the Buzzcocks. Other influences = The Fall + The Wedding Present + Close Lobsters. And Alan is also in Wildhoney - that's a good band.

As of this writing (12:26 PM in the Year That I'm Writing This A.D.) the band is set to release their debut full-length album on Kanine (that's a good label) and two songs are available for streaming right now and they're both good so go ahead and do it.
