Oh My Rockness

Delaware six-piece Spinto Band sound like a more radio-friendly version of The Unicorns meets the bouncy keyboard melodies of the Sea and Cake meets the vocals of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's Alec Ounsworth. However, it's probably insulting to make a CYHSY comparison since Spinto Band has put out seven self-released albums to that buzz band's one. Imagine, seven self-released albums and the average band member's age is only 21... now that's an impressive dedication to the craft!

Their latest album, Nice and Nicely Done, is on a legitimate label (Bar/None) and clearly shows these guys have had tons of time to get these songs right. I can't tell you what an easy listen this is. I mean, they even have the Brian Wilson-esque falsetto harmony things going on behind the catchy hooks. What more do you need?
